Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-20

Roario is a digital nature museum for children. It is built to be private by design and works entirely offline. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.

Data we collect

None, in normal use. Roario has no account and no login. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. Your child's activity — which animals they visited, stamps earned, or sounds matched — is stored only on the device and never leaves it. The one exception is when a grown-up chooses to send us a content report; see Reporting a problem below.

Made for children

Roario is designed for kids aged 5–9 and follows Apple's Kids Category rules and children's-privacy laws (including COPPA and GDPR-K):

  • We collect no personal data from children or adults.
  • There are no third-party ads and no behavioural analytics.
  • Purchases and any occasional links for grown-ups sit behind a parental gate (a simple math question) so children cannot reach them by accident.

Purchases

Roario offers optional one-time purchases (individual worlds or an all-access unlock) handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; we never see your card or billing details. Purchases can be shared with your household throughFamily Sharing and restored on your other devices.

Content & attributions

Animal photographs and recorded calls come from public-domain and Creative Commons sources. Attribution for every asset is listed inside the app under Settings → Credits.

Reporting a problem (optional, grown-ups only)

If a grown-up spots a mistake in a fact, photo, or sound, they can tap“Report a problem” — this sits behind the parental gate. Only then, and only if they submit, does the app make a single network request. It sends just thereport text the grown-up wrote, the affected world/animal, and theapp version — so we can fix the content. It does not send any name, email, account, device identifier, location, or any information about the child. Reports are used solely to correct the app's content.

No notifications, offline by default

Roario does not send push notifications and does not require an internet connection to use — every world, sound, and read-along works fully offline. The only time it touches the network is the optional grown-up content report described above. It does not read your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.

Children's data & deletion

Because everything stays on the device, you are always in control. Deleting the app removes all of its data immediately.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
